Problem
The design system adopted by the Envato Elements team had an overwhelming choice of styles and a lack of documentation on how to use them. This resulted in different interpretations by designers and a slowing down of the design process. This ultimately created a less cohesive user experience and reduced efficiency across our teams.
Hypothesis
We hypothesised that consolidating the number of styles and providing documentation on how to use them would help teams work with more confidence and efficiency, in addition to creating a more cohesive experience for our users.
